What Does Haddock Taste Like?

Haddock has a mild, slightly sweet flavor with a clean taste that is less fishy than some other types of fish. Its texture is firm yet flaky, making it ideal for a variety of cooking methods, including baking, frying, and broiling.

How to Prepare Baked Haddock

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  4. Line a casserole dish or baking sheet with a thin coating of butter.

  8. Broil for a minute or two at the end to brown the top.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/21 3/4 pounds haddock (skin-off)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons butter, plus more for lining the pan
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a small bowl in the microwave.
  3. Add in the breadcrumbs and garlic powder. Mix to fully coat the panko breadcrumbs.
