Panko Crusted Baked Haddock

Description

If you’re a fan of New England cuisine, this Panko Crusted Baked Haddock is a must-try. It’s a simple, no-fuss fish dinner that delivers big flavor, with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/21 3/4 pounds haddock (skin-off)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons butter, plus more for lining the pan
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a small bowl in the microwave.
  3. Add in the breadcrumbs and garlic powder. Mix to fully coat the panko breadcrumbs.
  4. Line a casserole dish or baking sheet with a thin coating of butter.
  5. Pat the haddock dry. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Pack the breadcrumb mixture onto the top of the haddock, pressing down to adhere.
  7. Place in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Bake time will depend on the thickness of the fish.
  8. Broil for a minute or two at the end to brown the top.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.
  10. ENJOY!

Notes

  • Instead of preparing a large filet, cut the haddock into individual portions.
  • Replace the haddock with cod, or your favorite white fish.
  • Pat the haddock dry prior to seasoning.
  • Press on the breadcrumbs to adhere to the fish.
  • Easily bake in an oven-safe casserole dish instead of a sheet pan.
  • Adjust the baking time depending upon the thickness of the fish.
