LET’S TALK CHICKEN

Even though I used boneless chicken breasts as the protein for this thirty-minute chicken dish, you can definitely substitute with boneless thighs, or even pork. Alternatively, prior to cooking, cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and use as the protein in a rice bowl.

Vegetarian or pescatarian?

If you are vegetarian or pescatarian, use this maple garlic glaze on vegetables, or even fish. Doesn’t maple garlic glazed broccoli and/or salmon, sound delectable?

LET’S TALK MAPLE SYRUP

Maple syrup is a great alternative to sugar and/or honey. However, maple syrup does contain a fair amount of sugar itself and should always be used in moderation. Having said this, not all maple syrup is created equal. This savory and sweet chicken recipe should be made using a quality maple syrup. Organic, if you can.

Look for maple syrups that do not contain a lot of processed sugar and preferably, all natural (minimally processed).

Have an aversion to maple syrup, use honey!

TIPS ON MAKING THE BEST MAPLE GARLIC GLAZED CHICKEN

The following tips will help to ensure the Maple Glazed Garlic Chicken comes out perfectly, every single time:

  • score the chicken to allow the sauce to seep through the crevices
  • use a cast iron pan (the chicken will sear up perfectly and the sauce will thicken nicely)
  • start creating the maple garlic sauce prior to fully cooking the chicken (this will allow the sauce to thicken nicely and ensure the chicken will NOT overcook)
  • as mentioned above, use a quality maple syrup
  • coconut aminos can be substituted for the soy sauce
  • garnish with fresh chopped parsley, or substitute with chives and/or green onions

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Serve Maple Garlic Glazed Chicken with steamed vegetables and/or steamed rice. Alternatively, the following are also great side dish pairings:
