What is Chowder?
Chowder is a type of thick, hearty soup, typically made with milk or cream and featuring ingredients such as potatoes, onions and a variety of proteins like clams, fish, seafood or sausage.
This hearty soup often includes vegetables and is commonly seasoned with herbs and spices. The texture of chowder is rich and creamy, and it is traditionally served hot. Chowder is popular in coastal regions, and is especially known in New England cuisine.
