I have been working diligently the past few weeks on my Super Bowl Party Food blog. Click here to check it out! I wanted to add a few recipes for Party Snack Ideas that can be put together super quick and easy, yet be scrumptious! I know, I could have gone to the market and picked up a bag of mixed fruit and nuts. But, why? Typically, I have to pick out the “unwanted” and throw away. If I make my own, I can only mix up what I really like, knowing that each handful is perfection!
I have also been working with a spice company for a few months now. I am in love, love, love with Kitchen Crafted’s, Bayou Catch® BLND! I have been making all sorts of recipes using this blend, and wanted to try something inventive. As a child growing up…when I liked ice cream…not so much anymore, I had this crazy food concoction. Melted chocolate ice cream with barbecue potato chips! It was heaven in a bowl! I wondered how I could create this in an “adult” version without using ice cream! POPCORN and my love for M&M’s. Genius!
So here they are. My favorite party snack ideas. Feel free to make them your own!
DRIED FRUIT AND NUT BOWLS
Place all of the ingredients in a bowl or freezer bag. Toss or shake to mix. The sugar from the honey roasted cashews and the saltiness from the other nuts combines so well with the dried cherries. I love using dried cherries as an alternative to cranberries…zero bitterness. You will notice that the cherries will cover themselves with the sugar and salt, beautifully! If you are hosting a party, fill several bowls with this goodness and spoon and serve! Definitely one to make ahead…that is if you don’t eat it all before your guests arrive.
BUTTERY CAJUN POPCORN
Try not eating the entire bowl of this popcorn before your guests arrive! I was so super excited for this recipe. Over the holidays, I found this microwavable popcorn bowl on Amazon…I could not wait to test it out! Almost every kernel popped! You do not even need oil. Try this out or make your pop your popcorn how you would normally.
Melt butter. Place popcorn in a bowl. Drizzle on the melted butter. Sprinkle with the spice blend. Toss to coat. Allow to cool. Toss in the M&M’s. Serve and ENJOY! I swear, you are going to love this flavor combination!
LET’S GET SOCIAL!
I am more than just recipes. I love fashion and style too! Most importantly, I love my Family (my Hubby and my Fur Babies). My Husband (aka my “Kitchen Bitch”) means the world to me. He’s pretty damn cool too. Not only is he one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, he also has had a lengthy career in professional hockey. Not only winning two Stanley Cups with the Pittsburgh Penguins in the early ’90’s, but most recently winning the Calder Cup with the Charlotte Checkers, amongst many other accolades. If you live in Charlotte and play hockey, or have a family member who plays, be sure to contact him!
Our life has changed dramatically in the past few years with the passing of our two goldendoodles, Vegas and Viva. We were lucky enough to have Vegas for five years (totally wish it was longer). Most recently, losing our Viva to a brain tumor in July of 2020. We welcomed our mini goldendoodle 7, almost seven years ago. We just added the amazing Hazel! Of course, I am always posting tons and tons of photos! Be sure to check out my recipe for Pet Bone Broth! This broth is super rich in nutrients and will provide your pet with a multitude of health benefits!
