Why You Will Love These Parmesan Crisps

  • Only One Ingredient: All you need is Parmesan cheese—no flour, no fillers.
  • Keto and Low-Carb Friendly: Great for anyone watching carbs or gluten.
  • Quick and Easy: Ready in under 10 minutes with no prep required.
  • Versatile: Enjoy as a snack, crumble over Caesar salads, or pair with dips and soups.
  • Oven or Air Fryer Option: Perfectly crisp in either, depending on what you have on hand.

Optional Add-Ons

For an added burst of flavor, try adding any of these to the Parmesan, prior to baking:

  • Fresh cracked black pepper
  • Italian seasoning
  • Crushed red pepper flakes
  • Garlic powder or onion powder

How to Serve and Store Parmesan Crisps

  • Serve as: Salad toppers, low-carb crackers, with your favorite dip, or as an alternative base when making bruschetta.
  • Store: In an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • Make ahead: These crisps can be made a day in advance and stay crisp, if stored properly.
  • Don’t refrigerate: Refrigeration may make them chewy instead of crisp.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can I use pre-shredded Parmesan cheese? Yes, but freshly grated Parmesan works better. Pre-shredded varieties often contain anti-caking agents that can prevent crisping.
  • Can I use other cheeses? Yes! Try finely shredded cheddar, asiago, or Romano. Just be sure the cheese is hard and low in moisture.
  • Can I add herbs or spices? Absolutely. Try Italian seasoning, black pepper, garlic powder, or even everything bagel seasoning.
  • Why did my crisps turn out chewy? They may be undercooked or too thick. Bake them longer until golden, and make sure to spread them thin.
  • Can I freeze them? Freezing is not recommended—they may lose their crisp texture once thawed.
