Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 810 ounces steam-in-bag edamame in shell (frozen)
  • 1/8 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 12 tablespoons chili crunch oil
  • Pinch of flaky salt, optional

Instructions

  1. Microwave the steam-in-bag edamame, according to package directions.
  2. While the edamame is cooking, heat the soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, and chili crunch oil in a small pot over medium heat.
  3. Simmer for about a minute, until slightly thickened.
  4. Carefully open the cooked edamame bag and add the pods to the pot.
  5. Toss to coat the edamame in the sauce.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with flaky salt, if desired.
  7. Serve warm and ENJOY!

Notes

  • Use steam-in-bag edamame for the fastest version.
  • Be very careful when opening the bag. The steam is very hot.
  • Sauce can be adjusted for spice level—add more chili crunch for extra heat.
  • Maple syrup or agave work as great honey substitutes.
  • Toasted sesame oil adds even more flavor depth.
  • Shelled edamame makes this easier to eat at parties.
  • Enjoy warm for the best texture and flavor.
