Description

Making your favorite Starbucks Bacon Gruyère Egg Bites at home, is easier than you think! These delicious, pillowy egg bites can be made for less than half the price of what you would pay at Starbucks, saving you money and allowing you to enjoy them anytime.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 large eggs
  • 4-ounces Gruyère cheese, finely shredded
  • 3 bacon strips
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Start by cooking the bacon until it’s crisp. Once done, dice it into small pieces and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, add the eggs, heavy whipping cream, whipped cream cheese, salt, and black pepper. Blend with an immersion blender until smooth. Fold in the shredded Gruyère cheese.
  3. Fill a deep sauté pan about halfway with water and bring it to a boil.
  4. Spray an egg mold with non-stick spray.
  5. Fill each well about 3/4 of the way with the egg mixture. Add a few pieces of crisp bacon to each well, then top with more of the egg mixture.
  6. Carefully place the mold in the boiling water. Cook for exactly 2 minutes, then cover with a domed lid to avoid moisture leaking onto the eggs. Cook for an additional 12 minutes.
  7. Carefully lift the mold out of the water and place it on paper towels to soak up any excess water.
  8. Flip the mold over to release the egg bites.
  9. Serve and ENJOY!

Notes

  • Cook the bacon until super crispy, for the best texture.
  • Use an immersion blender to incorporate air into the egg cream mixture for pillowy and bouncy egg bites.
  • Generously spray the egg mold to prevent sticking.
  • Make sure the water level is about halfway up the egg mold to ensure water does not seep into the egg wells while cooking.
  • Use a domed lid to prevent moisture from dripping onto egg bites.
  • Ensure even filling in each mold for consistent cooking.
  • Take extreme caution when lifting the egg mold out of the boiling water, as the steam can create burns.
  • Place cooked egg bites on paper towels to absorb excess water.
  • Customize fillings for variety and personal preference.
  • Finished egg bites can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, or frozen up to 2 months.
