Description

For a unique take on a traditional recipe, check out these Salsa Verde Deviled Eggs using fresh salsa from Sam’s. They are super easy to prepare and so delicious. Perfect as an appetizer, or take to a party!


Ingredients

  • 6 hardboiled eggs
  • 3 TBLS Sam’s Fresh Salsa Verde, drained
  • 1 TBLS sour cream
  • 2 1/2 TBLS mayo
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, sliced into 12 pieces
  • 1/2 C buttermilk
  • 1/3 C flour
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare your hard boiled eggs. 
  2. Place the yolks into a bowl with the mayo, sour cream, salsa verde, kosher salt and black pepper.
  3. Mix to a silky smooth consistency with a hand blender or stand mixer with whisk attachment.
  4. Place in fridge.
  5. Slice the jalapeño into 12 slices.
  6. Add buttermilk to a bowl and add the jalapeño slices.
  7. Place the flour, kosher salt and garlic powder in a bag or bowl.
  8. Coat the jalapeño slices in the flour.
  9. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
  10. Place the yolk mixture into a piping bag or freezer bag (with the corner cut out).
  11. Pipe the yolk mixture into the egg whites. 
  12. Top each with a crispy jalapeño slice.
  13. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley, kosher salt and black pepper.
