This Miso Maple Glazed Salmon strikes the perfect balance between sweet and savory, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. The combination of umami-rich miso paste and the natural sweetness of maple syrup creates a glaze that coats the salmon with a tantalizing caramelized crust.

- 2, 6-8 ounce salmon filets (skin on or skin off)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons white miso paste
- 2 tablespoons real maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar or mirin
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons sesame seeds, for garnish
- herbs for garnish (cilantro, green onion or parsley)
Instructions
- Preheat the broiler or oven.
- In a bowl, combine the miso paste, maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar and sesame oil.
- Oil the bottom of an oven-safe dish or pan.
- Pat the salmon filets dry.
- Add the salmon to the baking pan. Season with salt and pepper.
- Brush the filets with the miso maple mixture (tops and sides).
- Place under the broil (middle rack). Broil for about 8 to 10 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish.
- Move the oven rack closer to the broiler and broil for another 1 to 2 minutes to caramelize the glaze.
- Serve garnished with sesame seeds and fresh herbs.
