Description

This Spicy Homemade Cocktail Sauce is bold, tangy, and incredibly easy to make. It has that classic sharp horseradish bite balanced with ketchup, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce, making it perfect for shrimp cocktail, crab legs, oysters, or any chilled seafood platter. Once you make cocktail sauce from scratch, it’s hard to go back to the bottled version.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 23 tablespoons prepared horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 23 dashes Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl.
  2. Mix well until fully combined.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for about an hour to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
  4. ENJOY!

Notes

  • Letting the sauce chill helps mellow the horseradish and blend the flavors.
  • Always taste after chilling and adjust seasoning, if needed.
  • Best served cold for classic seafood presentation.
