- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 English cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper, optional
Instructions
- Grate the cucumber using a box grater, then squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a paper towel or clean kitchen towel. This step is key for a thick, creamy tzatziki.
- In a mixing bowl, add the Greek yogurt, sour cream, grated cucumber, crushed garlic, olive oil, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir until smooth and fully combined.
- Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt or lemon juice if needed.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 15–30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to develop.
