With just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up this Creamy Homemade Guacamole Dip, in no time.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe avocados
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, minced
  • 1 plum tomato, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, minced
  • Juice of one lime
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 to 3 dashes hot sauce
  • 2 dollops light sour cream

Instructions

  1. Begin by halving the ripe avocados, removing the seeds, and scooping out the flesh into a large bowl.
  2. Pour the lime juice over the avocado and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired consistency.
  4. Gently fold in the minced garlic, red onion, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, black pepper, hot sauce, and sour cream until well combined.
  5. Taste the guacamole and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more salt or lime juice if desired.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, ensuring it’s in direct contact with the guacamole to prevent browning.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  8. Serve chilled with your favorite tortilla chips, tacos, nachos, or alongside grilled meats for a burst of freshness.
