Sloppy Joes

I went old school this week with this recipe for Sloppy Joes! Actually, it is a take on the ones my Momma used to make us as kids. I still remember that flavor…taste…and best mess! Want dinner is just about 20 minutes…here ya go…and who can resist a great tasting Sloppy Joe? With just a few simple ingredients and one pan…dinner is served!

Sloppy Joes

What you need:

  • 2 lbs. 80/20 ground beef
  • 1/4 white onion, minced
  • 1 1/4 C Heinz ketchup
  • 1/3 C water
  • 2 to 3 TBLS yellow mustard
  • 2 TBLS Worcestershire sauce
  • sesame seed buns
  • cheese (optional)

How to:

Start browning your ground beef on medium. When beef is about halfway done, add in the onions. Allow the onions to sweat down as you finish cooking and browning the ground meat.

Add the ketchup and water…I usually mix these together. Add the mustard and Worcestershire sauce.

Mix well and allow to simmer for about 5 minutes or so. Serve on soft, sesame seed buns…I did layer a generous slice of white cheddar cheese on the bottom bun! ENJOY!!!
