So not only do I create recipes, but I also have a passion for fashion! My favorite time of the year is approaching…it’s almost Fall Y’all! To me that means soups, comfort food and cozy outfits. I was at an event the other day at one of my favorite places to shop in Charlotte, Apricot Lane! These ladies know how to party and make every single customer feel welcome. If you haven’t been there yet…you need to. Don’t live in Charlotte? Check them out on Instagram and call 980.209.1026 to order.
Here are a few of my favorite pieces I have added to my wardrobe in the past month. They are great for fall transition and I have a feeling they are going to get me through the upcoming winter, with a just a few simple styling adjustments!
I am in love, love, love with this animal print dress…funny…I not normally into “print” anything. The style of this dress and fit is amazing. Storia is one of my new favorite brands. I also picked up another one of their designs…this hi-low leaf print ruffle dress…similar fit…great look…I am excited to pair this beauty with boots in the next month or so.
Up next…JEANS…not just any jeans…those perfect jeans that fit just right. I opted for this flare fit from Just Black Denim. I actually have a few pair of jeans from this brand and was so happy to know that Apricot Lane is now carrying them. Check out this fit…button-up with just a slight flare…you need these in your closet and on your body! I paired them with one of my favorite graphic tee brands, Chaser and a bralette from Apricot Lane. For those chilly evenings…throw on a light, fitted blazer and you are good to go…ANYWHERE in style!
Keeping those same flared jeans…I also paired with this super cool sweater…I cannot even describe how soft it is and how great it looks tucked up in the front of these jeans. I hear they are reordering…call them now to reserve yours!
For a more casual look…I paired my new favorite jeans with a twist-front white top…wore it off the shoulder with the black bralette.
My last look is similar to the Storia animal print dress above with three-quarter length sleeves…ruffles…cinched waist…wear now paired with heels, or style with boots or booties in the cooler months!
I would be remiss if I did not mention an event we held last month to introduce my fashion partner-in-crime, Peter Carey’s very own clothing brand, Schwarzbart. It is now being offered at Apricot Lane. His fabulous line of streetwear and graphic tees are so very unique. All designs are from local artists, and most are unisex. This is how it all works…local businesses supporting each other…makes my heart so very happy! Thanks to our very dear Friend, Randolph James, owner of Magnolia Emporium (go there now) and to members of the cast of “To Have and To Hold, Charlotte” for coming out to support!
Lastly, huge shoutout to the team at Apricot Lane…all of these ladies are lovely…you will really love the changes that have been made in the past few months under the direction of my Friend, Nira Love. She and owner, Beth have worked so closely together to provide just the perfect offerings to their clients!
Apricot Lane is being featured in the September issue of South Charlotte Lifestyle Magazine…I will provide a link here when it is published! I am so very happy to support them in any way I can…always a pleasure! Go out…support local…I dare ya! Contact them about hosting your own event…great way to network and raise money for your own special charities.
